Valentine’s Strawberry Pie

The Valentine’s Day is here! I have prepared a recipe for a very simple, but extremely delicious, sweet, hearty pie. It may not look that way, but I assure you everyone can make it, even complete beginners. So this is a perfect opportunity to surprise your significant other, friends, or family. On the other hand, you can also make it for yourself and indulge in sweet treat.

For this pie, you won’t be needing any special ingredients. Its main characteristic is cuteness. Valentine’s Strawberry Pie is made of vanilla crust, the same one from which you cut the cookies to decorate the top. It is filled with fresh sugar covered strawberries.


Ingredients (for a pie baking tray wide 28 cm)

The Crust

  • 500 g flour
  • 150 g powdered sugar
  • 230 g unsalted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 7 g baking powder
  • 10 g vanilla sugar/teaspoon of vanilla essence
  • Tbsp sour cream


The Filling

  • 500 g fresh strawberries
  • 3 tbsp sugar



Clean and wash the strawberries. Cover them with sugar and set aside.

Knead the dough from all the listed ingredients. Let it rest in fridge for half an hour.

Take a third of the dough and roll it. Grease the baking tray and dust it with flour. Cover the bottom with rolled dough. Use forks to make some small holes so the bottom won’t rise too high.

Cover with strawberries.

Roll the remaining dough and use heart-shaped cookie cutters to make hearts. Decorate the pie with them in any way you like.

Bake your pie on 180 degrees C for 20-25 minutes. When baked, sprinkle it with powdered sugar.
