Buckwheat Pie with Walnuts and Plums

Recipe for a perfect autumn pie which is also gluten free. Buckwheat Plum Pie with Walnuts is a very flavourful pie with aromatic crust and sweet plum filling. Buckwheat completes well the walnuts, and plums make the pie moist and sweet. The pie is prepared very quickly. You will need about half an hour for preparation and then half an hour for baking.

Ingredients (for a 28 cm pie baking tray)

  • 225 g buckwheat flour
  • 125 g regular flour/ gluten free flour/ almond flour
  • 75 g minced walnuts
  • 200 g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 150 g sugar
  • 10 g baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

  • 300 g plums
  • 40 g sugar
  • 15 g minced walnuts

Knead the dough from listed ingredients. Set in fridge for a while.

Meanwhile, prepare the plums. Clean them, remove the stones, and cover them with sugar. Set aside.

Grease the baking tray for pie and sprinkle it with flour. Take the dough out of fridge. Take two thirds of the dough to cover the bottom and edge of the baking tray.

Put the plums on dough. Sprinkle them with minced walnuts.

Shred the last third of the dough on the plums.

Bake for 35 minutes on 180 degrees Celsius.

Optionally, you can sprinkle your pie with powdered sugar before serving.
