Banana breakfast buns are similar to it, they are made of banana dough with yeast, and I added some chocolate pieces. The preparation time is about 20 minutes, then they have to rise for about an hour, and they are baked in half an hour.
- 400 g flour
- 100 g sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 8 g dry yeast powder
- 150 g yogurt
- 2 ripe bananas
- 125 g dark chocolate (or chocolate chips)
- 1 egg
Smash the bananas with fork and cut dark chocolate in pieces.
Mix flour, sugar, vanilla essence, and dry yeast. Add yogurt and bananas. Knead the dough. It’s very sticky, but don’t worry, it should be that way. Lastly, add chocolate pieces or chocolate chips.
Cover the bowl with wet kitchen cloth and let it rise for 1 hour.
Preheat the oven on 180 degrees Celsius. Cover the baking tray with parchment paper. Cover your hands with flour and make buns out of dough – they can be as big as half of your hand. You can help yourself with a scoop or add some more flour if the dough is too sticky to make nice buns. Whisk the egg and spread it on buns so they get a nice glow.
Bake for 35 minutes for buns to turn golden brown.
